It is called the Nepal Vehicle Mass Emission Standard, 2056(1999) and the new vehicle to be imported in Nepal must be of this standard. Therefore, the certificate of COP (Conformity of Production) and TA (Type of Approval) must be submitted at the time of importation.   Information 2 Countries Providing GSP to Nepal   There are 28 countries which are providing GSP privilege to Nepal.   1. b) The rate on other customs offices is:
  • Per day per KG charge 20 paisa up to 30 days • Per day per KG charge 40 paisa from more than 30 days up to 60 days • Per day per KG charge 60 paisa for more than 60 days
  Department of Inland Revenue   Information Goods or Services In Respect of Which Tax May not be Deducted   (1) For the purpose of Section 17 of the Act, tax may not be deducted in respect of the following goods or services:   (a) Beverages, (b) Alcohol or alcohol mixed beverages such as liquor and beers; (c) Light petroleum (Petrol) fuel for vehicles, (d) Entertainment expenses.   (2) Tax on the following goods may be deducted on the following proportion:   (a) On all aircraft, 40 percent of purchase value. (b) On automobiles, 40 percent of purchase value.       Industry/Commerce/Supplies   Company Registrar’s Office Information Power to issue shares at premium   (1) Any company fulfilling the following conditions may, with the prior approval of the Office, issue shares at a premium:   (a) The company has been making profits and distributing dividends for three consecutive years, (b) The company’s net worth exceeds its total liabilities, (c) The company’s general meeting has decided to issue shares at a premium.   (2) Where the shares are sold at a premium pursuant to above (1), a sum in excess of the face value, out of the proceeds thereof, shall be deposited in a premium account to be opened to that effect.   (3) The company may use the moneys in the account as referred to in above (2) in the following acts:   (a) Paying up un-issued share capital to be issued to the shareholders as fully paid bonus shares, (b) Providing for the premium payable on redemption of any redeemable preference shares, (c) Writing off the preliminary expenses made by the company, (d) Bearing or reimbursing the expenses of, or the commission paid or discount allowed on, any issue of shares of the company.   Department of Industry Information Types of Visa   Foreign visitors other than Indian nationals need valid passports to enter Nepal. Indian nationals need valid passports/travel document if the entry point is airport. There is a provision of seven categories of visa in the Immigration Act 2049 and Immigration Regulation 2051. These are:   (a) Diplomatic Visa (b) Official Visa (c) Study Visa (d) Tourist Visa (e) Non-tourist Visa (f) Business Visa (g) Residential Visa   Only the last four categories of Visa (d-g) are relevant to foreign investors and expatriate personnel. The existing investors are entitled to get either the Residential or Business Visa. Investor (s) or the authorized representative (s) and their dependent family are entitled to get business visa for up to a period of 5 years depending upon the recommendation. Investors desirous of getting Business Visa, including extension, should apply in the prescribed format to DOI for the recommendation. The potential investors are entitled to get Non-tourist Visa and may apply in prescribed form, to DOI for the recommendation.     Insurance   Insurance Board Information Life Insurance Business   (1) The Insurer may operate the following Insurance Business under the Life Insurance Business:-   (a) Whole Life Insurance, (b) Endowment Life Insurance, (c) Term Life Insurance.   (2) But, the Board may prescribe other categories of the Life Insurance Business as required.   (3) The conditions and privileges of the Life Insurance Policy to be executed shall be as specified by the Board         Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministry of Tourism Information Power of inspection and experiment   (1) Government of Nepal may inspect or cause to inspect the hotel, lodge, restaurant or resort and bar registered and may experiment or cause to experiment the food and drinks (edibles).   (2) In the course of inspection of the hotel, lodge, restaurant or resort and bar or experiment of the goods to be used therein, are not found up to the prescribed standard, Government of Nepal shall provide appropriate time to such hotel, lodge, restaurant or resort and bar to maintain the standard.   (3) In case, one cannot maintain standard even receiving such time pursuant to above (2), Government of Nepal, in consultation with the Standard Fixation Committee, may suspend the registration or degrade to the appropriate classification to such hotel, lodge, restaurant or resort and bar.   (4) In case, the hotel, lodge, restaurant or resort and bar so suspended or degraded fulfills the prescribed standard, Government of Nepal may revoke such suspension or may register it as it was in the previous standard.   (5) But, in a case of suspension of registration, if hotel, lodge, restaurant or resort and bar do not maintain the prescribed standard so fixed in the past within one year from such suspension, Government of Nepal may revoke the registration.   Contact us For Following Tender and other related information:

    Water Resources   Department of Electricity Development Information Ownership of Government of Nepal   (1) The land, building, equipment and structure related to the electricity generation plant or transmission and distribution line established by the foreign national or corporate body as more than 50 (Fifty) percent of the total investment, shall be under the ownership of Government of Nepal after the expiry of the term as prescribed in the license.   (2) The assets coming under the ownership of Government of Nepal pursuant to above (1) may be purchased by the prior licensee on the amount as assessed pursuant to below (3) for generation, transmission or distribution of electricity and after acquiring such asset, such person, after entering into an agreement with Government of Nepal, shall generate, transmit or distribute electricity according to the agreement so made.   (3) Government of Nepal shall constitute a committee comprising of at least five persons for the purpose of assessing the amount pursuant to above (2).   (4) The electricity generation plant, transmission or distribution line established by the foreign national or corporate body as up to fifty percent of the total investment or established without foreign investment shall be operated or managed by the prior licensee by entering into an agreement with Government of Nepal after the expiry of the term as prescribed in the license on conditions as mentioned in the agreement so made.   Health and Population   Department of Drug Management Information 1 Registration of drug prior to its sale and distribution:    (1) An industry having obtained the production License shall, prior to the sale and distribution of each drug manufactured by it, make an application to the Department setting out the following details, in the format  for the registration of the sale and distribution of such drug:   (a) Product specification of the manufactured drug,   (b) Method of analysis of the manufactured drug and test report conducted by a laboratory specified by the Department,   (c) A sample of the manufactured drug, along with the label indicating its price,   (d) Other matters specified by the Department.   (2) If, upon making necessary inquiry into the application received , the Department deems proper to sell and distribute the drug mentioned in the application, it shall register such drug and issue the drug sale and distribution registration certificate in the format, by collecting the drug registration fees as prescribed for each drug.   (3) Each drug manufacturer who has obtained the product license shall register each drug manufactured by it pursuant to these Rule within one year after the date of commencement of these Rules and obtain the drug sale and distribution registration certificate.   Information2 Certification of product   (1) Prior to the marketing of any product, other than a feeding bottle and nipple, its manufacturer or distributor shall, for the certification of such product, make an application, accompanied by a sample of that product and the fees prescribed by the committee, to the central food laboratory, in the format as referred to in Schedule-4.   (2) If an application is made under Sub-rule (1) and the central food laboratory, after making necessary inquiry into the matters, considers that the concerned product conforms to the standard specified or recommended by the Bureau of Nepal Standards and is fit for consumption by the human being, it shall certify such product no later than three months after the date on which such application has been made.       The End     Contact us For Following Tender and other related information:
